"NPSNET Research Group Demonstrates Virtual Reality for Infantry Soldiers and Combat Medicine" at the 15 - 19 October 1994, Association for the United States Army Conference, Washington, DC.

"NPSNET-DI: Inserting an Infantryman into the Networked Synthetic Environment" appeared at the 1994 Individual Combatant Modeling and Simulation Symposium, Ft. Benning, Georgia, 15 February, 1994. The NPSNET-DI system allowed infantrymen to interact in a virtual environment. Participants were able to fire weapons, run, assume a prone position and communicate with hand and arm signals.

Pratt, David R., Zyda, Michael J,. Falby, John S., Amburn, Philip, and Stytz, Marty "NPSNET and AFIT-HOTAS: Interconnecting Hetereogeneously Developed Virtual Environments," demonstrated in the Tomorrow's Realities Gallery, SIGGRAPH '93, Anaheim, 1 Aug - 6 Aug 1993. The presentation at SIGGRAPH was a live demonstration showing the NPSNET system running networked over five IRIS workstations, with a T-1 connection to NRAD, San Diego, AFIT, Ohio, NPS, Monterey, and ARPA Warbreaker Facility in Arlington. 65 players were interconnected using the Defense Simulation Internet during this demonstration. This was a juried/reviewed gallery. A short paper was published on this exhibit (see below).
